Ryota Hamasaki

1979 Born Wakayama, Japan Lives and works in Tokyo, Japan Ryota Hamasaki explores the Eastern concepts such as space (ma, 間) and void (kuu, 空) in light of poesy, emotiveness and the Western philosophy to produce 3-D and video works. He also collaborates with an artist Masayuki Kawai for the live performance characterized by a large amount of analogue video instruments.

1979年 和歌山県生まれ。 間や空といった禅などの東洋的なコンセプトに詩想や情緒、西欧哲学などの要素を組み込み立体作品や映像メディアを用いた作品を制作。 主な活動歴：ポンピドゥーセンター『HORSPISTES2012』（フランス）、エクス・テレサ国立現代美術センター（メキシコ）での作品上映、川崎市民ミュージアムでの映像作品展示や、東京都現代美術館『田中敦子アート・オブ・コネクティング』、東京都庭園美術館『TTM:IGINITION BOX 2015』、『Art Basel Hong Kong 2018』（香港）でのライヴパフォーマンスなど。
