Description
Like rakugo, he plays two selves on his own. Iimura speaking in the rough beranmee style of the Edo dialect is a rare sight.
The back is part of oneself, yet one cannot see it. While being oneself, is it not an other?
That the front and the back are shown at the same time can also be called an image of “another self watching oneself”, that is, of self-consciousness.
If, when “I am watching myself”, the “self being watched” said to the “self watching”, “Don’t look at me”, what would happen?
What would happen if the “self watching” and the “self being watched” got into a fight?
