When one says “This is a camera” or “This is not a camera”, what is “this”? What is a “camera”?
Is it the camera shown in the image? The camera shooting it? The artist, Iimura himself, who is doing this? The gaze of the viewer watching it?
When one says “This is a monitor” or “This is not a monitor”, what is “this”? What is a “monitor”?
Is it the monitor shown in the image? The image (of the monitor) inside that monitor? The words “This is a monitor”? The (actual) monitor showing the image itself? The consciousness of the viewer watching it?
When one says “see the frame”, what is the “frame”?
Is it the frame of the monitor shown in the image? The frame of the monitor showing that image? The frame in the gaze and consciousness of the viewer watching it?

「これはカメラだ」「これはカメラでない」と言ったとき、「これ」とは何か。「カメラ」とは何か。
画像に映っているカメラか。それを撮影しているカメラか。それをおこなっている作家・飯村自身か。それを見ている観客の眼差しか。
「これはモニターだ」「これはモニターではない」と言ったとき、「これ」とは何か。「モニター」とは何か。
画像に映っているモニターか。そのモニターの中の（モニターの）イメージか。「これはモニターである」という文字か。その画像自体を映している（現物の）モニターか。それを見ている観客の意識か。
「フレームを見る」と言ったとき、「フレーム」とは何か。
画像に映っているモニターのフレームか。その画像を映しているモニターのフレームか。それを見ている観客の眼差し・意識の中にあるフレームか。
