MORI YU GALLERY presents The gate of the courtyard, an exhibition by Yasuhiro Fujiwara, from Saturday July 4 to Sunday August 9, 2026. The exhibition brings together about 15 works, including new pieces. An opening reception with the artist will be held from 4 pm on the first day. We look forward to your visit. The gate of the courtyard Among Franz Kafka's writings is a parable that the Japanese edition by Osamu Ikeuchi titles "The Gate of the Courtyard". If we think of a courtyard as a space enclosed by buildings on all four sides, it is a space protected from the outside world, and at the same time set apart from the inside of the buildings: a space that is both inside and outside. When I make work, I feel I am looking for a place like that. A place that fits neither side of the pair, inside or outside; abrupt, fragmentary and absurd, and at the same time holding a certain stability.
