MORI YU GALLERY VIEWING ROOM (Kamigyo-ku) presents COSMOFLOWER, a solo exhibition by Aki Kuroda, from Saturday June 20 to Saturday July 18, 2026. COSMOFLOWER brings together two ideas Aki Kuroda has long been thinking about: the concept of the PASSAGE, and the view that the universe is shaped like a sponge. At his 1993 solo exhibition at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, sponge objects about two metres tall were dotted around the galleries. Those sponges have now taken root and are blooming in Kuroda's GARDEN. In full bloom, the COSMOFLOWERs begin to move and keep opening new holes in the space Kuroda creates, until a very small garden connects to the cosmos. We warmly invite you to the GARDEN where the COSMOFLOWERs spread out.
