【exhibition】 MORI YU GALLERY presents Mihoko Ogaki, 'Milky Way -Hands', from Saturday June 6 to Sunday June 28. In this exhibition, her first solo exhibition in Kyoto, five new three-dimensional works from the 'Milky Way' series are shown. - About Milky Way - On the surface of human bodies made of FRP, countless holes are opened as a metaphor for emotions, and the light source built inside makes the surface of the objects shine like a galaxy. It is a series that gives concrete form to awe and reverence toward aging, based on the concept that what forms a human being is not only material things such as flesh and bone but also emotions of astronomical number, and that to speak of a human being is synonymous with speaking of the universe. The models this time are the hands of elderly people aged about 60 to 80. Even among the elderly, I think that these days there are cases in which one cannot tell their age from their appearance or features. But aren't the hands a part where it is very easy to see that they have cultivated a history, as many years as that person's life? These are new works that combine those hands with the Milky Way series. Mihoko Ogaki
