In Urago's paintings, in addition to geometric abstraction, beautiful women appear. She went from Osaka to London and, while studying ART, worked as a Make up Artist. Her many experiences of touching the faces of supermodels and of women in Japan and abroad, and her exploration of femininity, which could be called research, have surely had an enormous influence on her painting. She began the piano in early childhood. Perhaps because of that experience, the imagination of music spins out abstraction and draws out the world of figuration. But for her, figuration and abstraction are not a difference of quality; they are painted as different melodies born of the same notes. Even if the melodies differ, the two worlds are in other words in fact of the same content, represented wearing different surfaces, and at the same time they are also portraits of Urago herself.
