The Connectiong Sea -Popinpos- Popinpos is a word that one day, of its own accord, slipped out, poro, from somewhere. Like an island that appeared, po, out of the blue sea. It sounds like Latin, it also seems like the name of a coral's child, and it is a name one feels one has heard somewhere. When I hum that word, I somehow feel happy. So Popinpos does not represent a place that stands imposingly in the middle. Surely it is something that remains far at the edge, in the corner of this world far from everywhere, connecting wide spaces, or so I think for now. Perhaps it is something that the distant memory of the sea hummed.

Ｔｈｅ Ｃｏｎｎｅｃｔｉｏｎｇ Ｓｅａ ～Ｐｏｐｉｎｐｏｓ～ Ｐｏｐｉｎｐｏｓとは、ある日かってにぽろっと どこからか生まれてきた言葉。 青い海の中から、ポッと現れた島のように。 それは、ラテン語のようにも聞こえ、珊瑚の子の名前のようでもあるし、 どこかで聞いたことのあるような名前である。 その言葉を口ずさむと、なんだか楽しくなる。 だから、Ｐｏｐｉｎｐｏｓは、真ん中で堂々と立ちはばかるようなところをあらわしてはいない。 きっと ずっと端、この世界の、どこからも遠い すみっこに残って、広い間をつないでいるようなもの、 と、今のところ、思っている。 もしかしたらそれは、海の遠い記憶が、口ずさんだもの なのかもしれない。
